the card game was better than the main game
final fantasy 9s card game doesnt hold a candle to 8s

anyway i actually liked the story in FF8 for the first 2 disks
i mean the end of disk 2 has the famous incredibly stupid plot twist. but it doesnt sink in at the time because the garden battle is one of the most exciting moments in the entire game

its disk 3 and 4 where everything goes off the rails

In short he mess himself over. Hell, that patron that gave him I think a couple of hundred thousand of dollar to make a movie years ago and he still didn't do it. He literary took the money and ran.

except the card game is super fun and in the time it takes to draw 99 spells from one monster you can already have gotten 999 spells off of card mod

Only the hardcorest of the hardcore fans is all he has left. They still give him hundreds of dollars just for the rare live stream where Spoony comes on and acts like a dick to his fans. He can't even be bothered to keep his website going or videos up. If you ever want to watch any of his old stuff you have to find low quality videos posted by fans with Russian subtitles on them. Such a shame cause he was funny way back when. I feel he peaked at his Phantasmagoria 2 let's play. Everything after that wasn't as good as his previous work.

I honestly feel like he liked the game but knows that hating something gets you more views than liking it.

But yes, his complaints about drawing were BS. Even if you do draw all the spells, it's still a huge time saver over the practice of grinding that it replaced.
