There is no cheese industry. When you buy cheese you support the meat industry.

Not all vegetarians eat dairy. Nor do all vegetarians eat eggs. Eggs are not considered vegetarian in Indian, for example.

Then India is wrong.

Imagine how much land could be saved by not feeding billions of animals to inefficiently create meat

Absolutely zero. The land would just be replaced with apartment buildings.

Nah they do. It's just the typical vegan attitude to ignore it.

Would a vegan drink milk from a cow raised cruelty-free that was born from cruelty-free raised cow parents?

@Doctor_Foxx

You'd have to ask each one identifying as vegan individually

Ultimately no vegan wouid do so

I personally would not

Let's remember that vegans forgo animals products because it's cruel to eat animals despite human physiology requiring it, not at the level they are currently consumed. It's the difference between feeding people and having a bunch of wild animal carcasses laying around.

That's hard to do.

Great job assuming all vegans answers.

So, even if the cruelty aspect was removed, neither yourself or all other vegans, would even eat an unfertilized egg laid naturally in order to survive?

Uh what?

I don't have to costume eggs to survive, eggs are not something essential to human survival, so I don't touch them. I can't speak for everyone in a group

But anyone eating animal products is, by definition, not vegan

Maybe you mean to ask "would you give up being vegan for survival" which is something rather different

But if vegan is animal-cruelty based and since animal consumption is vital to human physiology, if animal consumption was balanced and not cruel, would vegans exist?

Yes, I agree that the majority of America, not the world, treats its feedstock (and most of the human workforce) as expendable creatures that don't deserve at least a moderate quality of life, human or otherwise.

I do believe that animal consumption is beneficial and sustainably manageable.

I am NOT going to read this topic, but I agree with a drastic reduction in meat and dairy consumption, for economic purposes. Somewhat for ethical purposes, because I believe animals at least deserve a good habitat, but I am not ethically opposed to consuming meat/dairy, as animals would suffer a much worse fate in nature. We can ethically kill animals, in my opinion. I understand if people disagree with that. I also personally think it's perfectly fine and ethical to milk a happy cow. I'm a little more confused on that one, but ok. It would be beneficial for health and economic reasons to reduce our meat and dairy intake.

Vegetarian offers more leeway. (And indulge me for two minutes because I haven't said "vegan" yet.)

You can have vegetarian cheese and non-vegetarian cheese for varying degrees of vegetarian; some vegetarians won't eat any animals, some may allow themselves to eat animal products, some will exclude specific animals. Back to cheese: cheese is commonly made with rennet -- https://wikipedia.org/wiki/Rennet -- TL;DR, it's dead baby-cow guts, specifically some bacteria that grows there. Vegetarian cheese is made with milk or rennet alternatives, such as fungus instead of milk or vinegar instead of rennet.

Vegan cheese does not exist because vegans are super-strict. They might as well be eating just fruits, roots, nuts and seeds.

1. the reason is food.
2. if an animal died from an accident or something, a vegan still wouldn't eat it. clearly it isn't just about that.

You should be asking if they would become vegetarian instead.
