Nothing other than the guilt of taking food in place of someone who could legitimately need it.

I sometimes went to the mission if I was close by because they had pizza night on Mondays, free pizza, they always had leftovers anyways so eh.

Every organization has their own rules and process. The food shelf I volunteer at for example makes you fill out 2-3 pages of paperwork before getting served, so while you could still lie it would entail a decent amount of effort.

The one I've volunteered for lets anyone come in. They're given table service. Some local people with jobs go there to get lunch and just donate a few bucks each time

Basically where they live, who they live with and how much income they have (if any).
