Current Events > ORAS or XY?

Let's Go has made me want to go back and play a game I missed out on, which one should I play? (Played Sun when it came out).

neither are that good at all tbh but I'd say oras is marginally better

Gen 3 is the best and I made a living Dex after playing 200 hours.

ORAS easily. Gen 3 are the best games by far and the remakes improve on it exponentially.

Having one of every single Pokemon in your PC at the same time. It's like the next step after just completing the Dex.

As for topic at hand, go with ORAS. Overall has more content, more Mega Pokemon, etc. Personally I think it has a better story and more likeable characters, but YMMV there.

I'd go for XY 'cause I actually liked dressing up my character (actually made him resemble an old, custom LEGO figurine of mine) and I had an easier time making money post-E4 via the restaurants.

Is XY shorter than ORAS? I feel like I've heard it's light on content so if I can kind of breeze through it I might just play both back to back.

ORAS is better. Less hand-holdy, more available Pokemon with less hassle. Also, Secret Bases are pretty fun and it's cool to be able to fly around Hoenn even if it's more a gimmick than an actual mechanic.

To be honest I can't recall which one was longer, although I did "breeze through" ORAS more so than XY simply because I took my time to enjoy XY, being a new region and all that.

then again I'm still on the first island in Moon simply because I realized (too late) that I've stopped giving a %@$# about the series; after trying to "catch 'em all" for the last twenty years I'm kind of burnt out. =/

EDIT: I forgot about secret bases. Those are fun. Granted, I was too lazy to max out the National Pokdex so I'm missing one of the special posters/certificates. Ah, well.

ORAS if you haven't played RSE (otherwise XY). I really like the DexNav. I hope gen 8 takes some inspiration from it.

The good thing about XY is the Pokemon selection. There are three different sections to the Pokedex with like 400+ available in total just between those two games.

Post-game, neither are great. ORAS have the Delta Episode, which is decent. The equivalent in XY are the Looker missions. I prefer the former. Both obviously have their share of Legendaries to catch. Soaring in ORAS is cool, but not that useful really.
