I have it a shot and watch the first season and most of the 2nd. After that I was done.

I tried to get into it but I just couldn't take the new backgrounds for like every villain

I was fine with the penguin being there, but none of the others should be villains (or even adults)

The only thing I like about batman is his rogue gallery and I hated Gotham.

well don't go in thinking it's a batman show. that's the your problem. you got to go in thinking it's a Commissioner Gordon show. it's like Se7en in the Gotham universe. it's pretty great.
Also Wayne is a terrible actor that need to be written out of the story, but if they do that they will piss off the people who think the show is about Batman.

By the end of season 4 I was like man Someone needs to come to this city an clean this city up. This city is aweful. They really need batman to clean this up.

Also I didn't like fish. I'm glad she out by season 2... but for some reason I feel like they will bring her back.

Its okay. My friend watched the whole series on netflix and bitched the entire time. It was pretty funny honestly. "blah blah this person looks different, waah that character wouldnt do that"
So far ive seen 20 episodes over the 4 or so seasons so I can say for certain that its a decent show. My friend seems like and hate it

I compare it to Batman Beyond where it wouldn't make sense to have the original villains turn up again so instead they had gangs and copycats that were following the character archetype set by that original villain. In Gotham it doesn't make sense for characters to appear at that point in the timeline when their origins are much later on. So everyone is following the archetype of the character, without actually being the character. The frustrating thing is that this makes the original characters the copycat of these pale imitations.

It's decent for what it is. The 5th season had potential to be the best but they reduced the length so I don't think it will be that good.

I watched the first two seasons, but then dropped it just because it came on at the same time as another show I liked.

People keep praising the later seasons and I skimmed through a few episodes, it still has the same bad, stilted dialogue, awful production quality, laughable "twists", it doesn't seem all that good.

Not at all TC. While I love Batman I found Gotham to be boring as shit so gave up watching after season one.

It's a pretty bad adaptation, you should watch Daredevil instead if you already haven't.

I've seen the first three seasons and started with the fourth.

In my experience, all seasons was really slow and kinda boring at the beginning, so I were usually not really that motivated to continue watching until halfway through each season.

I liked the Flash show more. Are they making more seasons of that?
