Not only did she survive, no one else died either. 5 others were hurt.

Not sure what happened to the car to make it accelerate like that

Looks like a straight away leading into a corner. These cars generate a lot of down force via their wings/spoilers and hers may have failed before she had a chance to brake for the turn, causing the car to lift.

As for how she didn't die, they are some of the safest cars in existence. Still amazing how no one else died though.

I like how no one mentioned/pointed out the car is backwards which is crucial. The car's aero/downforce is pretty much worthless facing the other direction. Even facing the correct direction can lead to disasterous results for some designs, such as a VW beetle cannot exceed a certain speed or it will force itself to flip upside down and attempt to fly since it's essentially an upside down backwards wing design, or the mercedes CLR backflip of 1999ish.

That said, since I can't see the prior she obviously lost control and got turned around at speed from the straight. This could have been due to braking error/failure, contact with something else, etc. Probably explained somewhere. Either way the car ended up backwards and still at a high speed, causing the aero to go nutty and potentially lifting off the ground. If I remember right those cars are pretty flat on the underside combined with the spoiler/splitter it became a sort of wing. Even braking or tire friction won't really help because it's not touching the ground fully or the suspension is completely unloaded.

As for surviving, yeah... they're designed to basically disintigrate outside of the tiny capsule the driver is in as the entire vehicle is a crumple zone. Unfortunately it's still a lot of trauma like an ejection seat. Save your life, but give you grey hair, blindness, or spinal compression.

The tl;dr is, if a racecar goes airborne, you're pretty much screwed, and being turned backwards at speed almost always causes a racecar to go airborne.

That's why cars in NASCAR have all those weird flaps and stuff that pop up when a car gets turned around.

It's also pretty crazy when Dragsters and Railcars go out of control.

You just have to sit and go along with it at 200+ mph.

Luckily noone got killed and she'll be fine.
