Current Events > Alright, so the Charmed remake series is improving somewhat but *SPOILERS*

The show is not deep enough to warrant much discussion and not popular enough for many people to post, especially now that it's not going to be on for a month or two.

Here's my problem, the girls aren't nearly as watchable as Shannen Doherty, Holly Marie Combs, or Alyssa Milano. They just don't have that kind of stage presence. Alyssa Milano owns every scene she's in. Most of these new girls aren't even good enough to be her background extras. You can call the original show corny or whatever, but being an Aaron Spelling production it was still bingable drama.

I'm not going to say the new show is bad, it's still miles above makes-me-gag Supergirl. But I just have no emotional investment in any of these girls. If the show offed one of them right now then I'd just shrug and say, "ok." Every time these girls are in a scene it's like I'm waiting for the series' leads to show up. You know what it's like? It's like when we get stuck in the B-plot of an Arrow episode. It's like, "When are we going to cut back to Oliver?"

But after season 4 of the original show, it went downhill fast and never really recovered. Mostly due to them making 2 of the main characters selfish & unlikable. They character assassinated them from S5 onwards for whatever reason and it hurt the show big time.

I'm a few episodes behind. but I just wanted to say that in the episode with the spell to make it so the middle sister never met her girlfriend, I actually found myself tearing up a little in the scene where she said goodbye and then the girlfriend turned to sand. also that was a cool effect

I find the idea of a lesbian charmed one to be contrary to one of the original fundamental ideas of charmed which was generation after generation, pass down through your children, it all leads up the charmed ones.

In essence families and having kids and the kids having more kids all of which are future witches.

Just look at the finale of the original series, very family oriented. Heck season 1 I think it was? but early on one of the entire sticking points through all the plotholes was Phoebe having her kids that she saw in a dream.

Gay people can still get biological children from at least one parent. It's not something that can happen in an accident, but yeah you can still get children. And whatever her name is seems like a woman that would like to have her own child some day.

You guys really can't remember the names of most of the main characters? They're easy to remember, especially the 3 main girls.

The names of the main characters as of now are:Macy, Maggie, Mel, Harry, Galvin (Macy's BF) and Parker. ( Maggie's BF)

Not my thing but my partner really liked the original series. She thought the reboot was meh-characters were annoying, they skipped over the whole learning their powers/making mistakes shenanigans and the supporting angel mentor guy/dollar store Giles character was a waste of time.
She ended up bingeing the original series instead.
