The law of human nature i am reading is interesting so far.

It talks about well, human traits that everyone have, emotions, narcissism, etc and how to turn that traits into something productive. I am early in the book tho.

Or just give a shit about others and consider if you were in their situation and treat them as you'd like to be treated.

It's that easy.

That's the goal but some people gotta retrain impulse first to do that.

Aren't a lot of these books written by hypocrites who ended up getting caught doing something bad?

Nothing really specific. Just things like what is good? What makes someone a good person? How do you measure that? Is it possible to live a good life? If so, how? If not, why? Any books on that, nonfiction or fiction.

You're not gonna find a linear form of "good" unless you go the religious route. For an intellectual it's about doing what makes you feel good about yourself overall instead of just what makes you feel good at the moment.

You also can't expect for everyone else to see you as good, no matter what you do. If you let that control how you see yourself, you will never win. There will always be people who put their idea of you first and use that to judge everything you do from a misguided perspective.

I think you just have to start doing what you feel is good and not be scared to ask for second opinions from the people you trusts. Do you have people to trusts?
