People with what can be deemed "low intelligence" has always been around, and the dominant intellectual demographic us not going to err to either end as time goes on. To say we are getting dumber as a species is really looking down on the advances we've made, even since the release of the movie over a decade ago.

I always find it really annoying when people compare Trump to the president in that movie. Camacho saw that his country was in trouble, sought out the smartest person he could find, and took his advice on how to improve the nation. He's way better than Trump.

Yeah, I think we always fall somewhere in the middle. On one side, you have people who think that we were stupid in the past, which isn't true, and then you have the people arguing we are getting dumber, which also isn't true. We always fall somewhere right in the middle.

It's pure fiction. America could never reach those heights.

It's something the fans say. They know what a documentary is, but people liken the movie to some prophetic interpretation of the future of society, like it's 1984 or something.

So the fans tend to compare it to reality, similar to a doc.
