It's not that they're happy about being fat or anything, I actually think that's sort of a good thing if you're happy to just accept yourself as you are. It's not something I'd choose for myself but it's not something that bothers me in anyway.
What confuses/bothers me is how upset the fat pride people get when you point out that they're fat. Fat acceptance movement individuals get so upset about normal sized people calling them fat or pointing out their mass they want to make it a criminal offense to call people fat and stuff. We've see the fat models having a right go this week because they're being told they're too fat for the victoria secret show. I thought they were proud of being fat, and that was their whole thing but they obviously aren't or they wouldn't get so angry when people point out to they're too big for certain types of clothing and underwear and certainly aren't in the correct shape to be modeling them professionally in front of millions of people. Imagine if there was a bald pride movement, a load of bald middle aged men who constantly tell everyone how brilliant having no hair is. Would you expect such people to get upset at people calling them baldies? Would you expect them to go mental if they weren't invited as hair models to a hair style show by Vidal Sassoon or Charles Worthington? This is one reason why I'm not sure I believe people when they say they're happy being obese, basically all the evidence and all the anecdotes seem to suggest the opposite. Anyone have experience, thoughts, opinions or facts that could contradict this observation? ... Copied to Clipboard!

These are people who are very sensitive about the connotations of being called fat, and it's usually not something with very good connotations. Despite being all about fat pride, I think they are still very sensitive, often too much, about people being critical.

Without context: Calling someone fat is usually just a point of being rude.
With context of Victoria's Secret: You've got it all wrong tc. They could very well be proud of being fat, and are just angry that people think that they shouldn't wear certain types of clothing on the runway professionally. That being said, they're barking up the wrong tree with VS. --- [break the meta] https://youtu.be/Acn5IptKWQU ... Copied to Clipboard!

I love to spend my weekends telling people they are fat.
I also love telling girls they have flat chests and guys in the locker rooms have small dicks. I love calling people with poor dental hygiene toothless. A port-wine facial birthmark gets my motor running and ugly people always feel my sting. Actually, I don't do any of that because I'm not an asshole. --- The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. Fat pride is like being proud of being unhealthy and at risk for many more health diseases. it's dumb how people think that body positivity/fat acceptance is the same thing as fat pride/health at every side. It's the same thing as metoo being hijacked to scream about manspreading or BLM being hijacked to complain that one time a cop stopped you because you had a hood up in the summer and were trying to get your car to open and had a wire hanger to fish the keys so you deserve money on gofundme ... How fat are we talkin' about here? Thicc is usually okay healthwise and can be attractive in many cases--obese not so much. I don't agree with people encouraging other people to stay unhealthy. It'd be like people telling everyone it's fine to smoke several packs of cigs a day.

Honestly I think they want to be seen as attractive as actually beautiful women. They somehow don't want their fat to be part of the equation in what makes them attractive, or to just not have fat seen as unattractive. I'm sure there are some who just don't want to be shit on for it, but like with every other movement these days, the extremists took over.

What confuses/bothers me is how upset the fat pride people get when you point out that they're fat. It'll get tiresome and mentally exhausting when everyone you meet points this out. I'm not fat, but I've had my career choices derided by so many family members and people who knew of me. It takes a toll. I can sympathize with fat folks who constantly get lambasted for being overweight as it'll also have a large chance of discouraging them from trying to live a more healthy lifestyle. --- imgtc.com/i/4HgTl0ebzq.jpg imgtc.com/i/60CWP2Gtlg.gif ...
