4 - very good, if not great
5 - okay...just about
6 - good
7 - never played

I actually thought 6 was pretty enjoyable. I mean, it had tons of problems, but there was plenty of fun gameplay, and even the strange mish-mash of gameplay styles COULD be quite good...sometimes. I mean, I like third person shooting, puzzling, and exploring...I'm just not quite so used to combining them.

4 and 5 are great. (5 is only great if you play with a friend. It's dreadful with the AI)
6 was meh, but fun to play with a friend.
7 is good, not great, but hopefully a step in the right direction.

5 is best played co op which is super fun.

4 is one of my favorite games ever made, it's one of those games with this intangible quality that makes the whole experience incredible

5 was good but not great, kind of turned into a cover shooter towards the end which i hated. fun to co-op tho

6 was trash

only played a demo of 7 but it was cool, too scary for me though lol

4: Amazing. Probably the best modern RE, aside from RE revelations 1 (really loved the old-school backtracking mechanic), I've played.
5: Really good, because I had coop buddies and it mostly stuck to 4s formula, other than the interconnected world.
6: A bit too far removed from the RE I knew. Not terrible, but not as good as it's predecessors, IMO.
7: I don't really know where to put this one. I liked it, but it... I don't know. I wouldn't want to see another one like it, even though I liked it on its own.

It's pretty fucking terrifying. I got to an area later in the game and fully cleared it of enemies, the game sends me back there to collect an item and I see that the enemies haven't regenerated so I feel safe, only to discover they spawned another enemy in a new spot to ambush me.

I can't imagine playing this shit with VR.

I bought VR specifically for RE7 and then found out you couldn't use the motion controls. It really hindered my ability to enjoy it. Especially cause how much fun Skyrim was again with the whole new playstyle in VR. Using a Bow n Arrow was so much fun, even if it did glitch up here and there. Aiming magic attacks were impossible to do 2 handed while moving but you could aim them in 2 completely different directions which was cool

4 is probably my favorite of the series
5 was fun, but it wasnt scary. It was during the daytime, open spaces, with a partner, and starting you off with a full weapon load-out took away from the fun of finding the guns yourself.

I havent played 6 or 7, though. What exactly is so much different about those two?

I also really liked Revelations and Revelations 2. The second one is directly underneath RE4 for my favorite. I know that game got a lot of hate, but I just never got that. The partner switching mechanic became extremely helpful when I expected it to be a major hindrance. Besides I really like the fact that you FINALLY get to play as Barry. I thought the story was really interesting, considering it was a side title.
