Linear - A specific sequence of events from start to finish, with no deviations.

Branched - Every single possibility leads into its own split in the timeline, making it more like a web or tree.

Linear, but I don't believe time is actually a thing that "exists" like the past is gone what is is what is

Not really sure. I feel like, though, it might be branched.

When people talk about multiple universes, where every possible outcome has it's own universe, how minute do the changes need to be? Like is there one universe where a tree had a leaf fall off, and one entirely new universe where the only difference is the leaf doesn't fall off?

Pretty much anything that could have any meaningful effect on any particle anywhere at any time.

So like hypothetically, there are universes so similar that they differ only by you weighing one nanogram less than you do now, or you having hit that Enter key on your keyboard one Planck length to the right or one Planck time later ... or whatever.

Youre thinking too big.
Think a trillion separate universe. One where the leaf flips 10 times on the way down. One where it lands one blade of grass to the left of where it ususally does. Etc

Branched. We'll need a portal gun from Rick and Morty to explore the other universes.

That's basically what I'm saying. It gets pretty ridiculous, and it's hard for me to believe it.

It is like a video game. It splits off for bigger actions in your life.

More branched than linear, although I'm not sure whether the infinite alternate possibilities really exist/existed.

seeing that time doesnt exist and neither can time travel as a result, the most fun time travel in fiction is the version presented in Steins;Gate, where there is one "active" worldline, and the world is rewritten depending on how humans interfere with the past

Time is a human construct. The universe is action and reaction. We just put a word to that because we can observe it.
