read, dance, beer, shows, board games, stories, songs, walks, daily chores

interestingly enough most people who were not quite rich would often work 8-12 hours daily

A lot of things that are easy with electricity simply took longer
a woman was expected to run a house with maids for example.

Live theatre (Shakespeare was the 1600s), sport (I mean, the ancient Olympics date back to around 700BC!) music, reading/writing, social gatherings, dances etc plus once we're into the early 20th century the rise of forms of live entertainment like vaudeville.

Which sports were around actually? I think baseball, basketball were invented late 19th century.

wrestling and running. two of the oldest sports in history. it is said that zeus and hercules once wrestled to a draw because neither could pin the other. which results in wrestling implementing a time limit and a point system.
