It's not. It is considered a norm and the mother is respected by most that I've met from my experience, as it takes a lot to make it work. What isn't respected is the mother having multiple children and not working to support them, but relying on her family, or worse, the government, to help financially support them. Also, the father separating from the mother whom has custody of the child(ren), regardless of the differences were irreconcilable or not, or wasn't even his fault, is frowned upon.

I don't see anything about single moms being frowned upon. Doing what you should do even in less fortunate circumstances is commendable.

There was a thing for a bit, with some dumb women's mag site, about how it's a good thing to aim for being a single mom, which is wrong and stupid. Statistically speaking, you're just rolling bad IVs for your kids by doing that.

Except that stereotype is applied to many people who don't fit those parameters. That's why stereotypes aren't the way to evaluate people.

Single mothers are looking for a bailout, someone to finance her and her childrens lives while your needs/wants are irrelevant, you will always be 3rd, 4th, 5th or how many children she has because they will always be placed above you.
