There's this chick at work I work with from time to time. She's on part time so I don't really see her a lot. We're on friendly terms and I think she's cute.

She came up the other day and I was like hey good to see you. She went in straight for a hug and we hugged. Hug is a hug so that might not mean anything. She thought i was trying to high five her and asked me if I was really doing that. I laughed and said yes and jokingly high fived her shoulder. I wasn't actually going for a high five when she thought, I was going for the hug from the right.

She then was telling me about how her weekend went and what all the things that happened. She touched my arm, shoulder, and hand during this. The hand touch was more her trying to reenact something from her story. She also told me she dated someone from our work for two weeks and they're still friends.

Some other co-workers were around also talking with us. During the course of this she mentions she likes telling me her stuff because I laugh at it and not call her stupid or whatever. She likes that I'm chill about it.

We're all talking and someone mentions my weird laugh. She says she likes my laugh. I say I try to change it and she says don't change it, I love you (a friendly one I guess).

She was then showing us her Instagram pics. She passed her phone to me. I told her she takes cute pics but I don't think she heard me over everyone talking.

So things died down a little and her shift was over. I asked if she worked the next day and she said yes then we said bye.

She came by 30 min later to tell me she's actually not working the next day. I was like we just see each other next week when you work. She then says she's actually trying to get next weekend off. She says she's not sure she might even work the rest of the month because hours are getting cut. She says this might be a goodbye forever. Then there's like 30 seconds after this where I can't remember what I or she said. I think she was like we'll see each other next time, I said don't be a stranger and she laughed and we said bye.

I think I do like this girl but I feel it's going to be awkward asking her out.

I don't have her number or have added her on social media btw.

Am I just making too much of this situation?

So an update on this shit, I see her today and she shows up with a guy. We say hello by hug then she says she's getting a hotel room. She didn't introduce him as boyfriend or dating but this type of thing just seems obvious at this point.

What now? Do I ask if she's seeing this guy or just forget about the whole thing together and move on?

Ask if she's seeing the guy, if not, ask her out. Don't be a pussy.
