The Republican Party rejects science and puts corporate profits ahead of the future of the planet.

The Democratic Party uses annoying rhetoric and a few of them want to take your guns.

Definitey a toss up.

/r/libertarian is loaded with people who are just on the start of their "Libertarian to AnCap to Alt-Right to NeoFash" pipeline. Not all of them, mind you, there are some that care about shit like limited government spending and such. But plenty that frankly don't care about those issues and just call themselves Libertarian because they are pissy at the "liberals/SJWs" and blame them for all of societies problems.

Republicans are actively working to make climate change worse to line the pockets of their donors.

Democrats, if elected, will put forth a plan that acknowledges climate change as a problem but which is wholly insufficient for fixing it.

Neither is good! But one is preferable.

No, but sadly it is a 2 party system. It used to be a bunch of parties, but the problem lies that all those parties eventually molded into 2. If a third party would also go up against Democrats and Republicans if any of the ideology of the third party coincides more with Democrats or Republicans, what you'll see happen is that the third party would start to steal away votes from whomever it's more ideologically more identical to.

It's down to opinion, but sometimes those policies that make it sound like it's helping people who are struggling can also be the ones that are actually hurting them.

I'm a registered democrat and tends to vote democrat majority of the time because it fits my ideology, but at times there is some stuff I can't agree with them like immigration and gun control.

You said no it isn't and then proceed to say that there are things that are up to opinion.

Sometimes those policies work better in one country than another because of difference in geography, society, and culture like gun control in Britain and many parts of EU.

Let me put it to you this way.

You have some stuff that there exists legitimate arguments for either view, and then you have some other stuff in which 1 party is completely wrong about all of it and another party is completely right about all of it, objectively. The objective stuff far outnumbers the subjective stuff.

Oh, in that case I can agree with you which is why I tend to vote Democrat the majority of the time. I think my problem lies with the Democrat party is the association with the SJW's, particularly the candidates, and how a lot of the pandering they do really puts me off. I guess that's the same way my republican friend feels about Trump and his pandering to the alt right.

That's not what I meant and the data is misleading. The top 6 least are some of the wealthiest states, and the top 6 most are poor, southern states with extremely large marginalized communities of minorities that are intentionally marginalized and harassed by the active LEOs constantly. If you look at the states with high gun violence, you'll likely also find they have a much higher rate of hate crimes--I am fully pulling that out of my ass but I'm going to put my reputation on the line there if you feel like proving me wrong.

There's a lot of factors that play into gun violence, and accessibility is only one of them. Countries like Switzerland have an extremely small amount of gun violence despite really large chunk of the population owning guns--the problem is rooted in cultural issues.

What pandering are you talking about, out of curiosity?

I mean the only people I see even caring about "SJW" complaints are private businesses who typically respond with a fake apology tweet, then both sides are mad for a while, and then both of them forget it ever happened.

I don't really ever see politicians doing stuff like that.
