And I tried again recently with it, had still to give up on the faries on the 1st dungeon because I was running out of time. There were only 2 of them left and I had no idea of where I missed them. If I could just search in every room once more... but nope, time limit.

Did you have the Great Fairy's Mask? That dramatically cuts down on the time involved in hunting down fairies.

I think I did, and I still missed them somehow... probably forgot to use it ate some point, and didn't had enough time to search.

So? Just go back and look for them again during another three-day period.

As I said, there are unlimited chances, so use that to your advantage.

Sure. It's a bit of an annoyance tho. That why I prefer playing with OoT dungeons over the MM ones.

I didn't know about the slow time back then. And I tried again recently with it, had still to give up on the faries on the 1st dungeon because I was running out of time. The inverted song of time is the song of time backwards. The scarecrow tells you how to do it. You can also play the double song of time which is each note twice in a row. So should be right c, right c, A, A, down c, down c...

But they are right that you can just try again.

Also, for the first dungeon, one of the fairies are hiding Under the bridge in one of the poison water rooms.

And for the second dungeon, you need rouse the Lens of truth For a few. And for the last one, you have to Use a flower with the Deku mask from like the very top, work your way to the wall, then flower your way down until you find the secret hole in the wall. It takes forever, but yeah. I hate that one...

I know how to slow the time nowadays, but I couldn't read english back when I first played. I found out about the time skip song by complete accident. My gaming childhood was basically a dark age. lol

Geez, you guys are making me want to play MM again. Guess I'll continue from where a stopped once I get home.

I believe you can do them in sort of any order. You can definitely start them in any order.

Don't remember exactly, but I believe there are some prerequisites for each temple. Like the Shadow Temple, for example, requires either Fire or Water completed before you get the cutscene in Kakariko?

Sorry. I should have been more clear. I meant the first three. But you will need the bow from the forest temple, as well. At least for the water temple. But I remember going to all three temples and getting all the new items before completing any.

As for the last two, you need to finish the at least water temple to start the Shadow. But maybe all three(Ive never done only one). For the Spirit, I think you just need the Lens of Truth & Hover boots. But I cant be too sure...

I vaguely recall it needing both of those, yes. Completing Forest is only really needed to be able to go back in time. By comparison, Spirit really only needs you to reach it; meaning time travel, Lens of Truth (doubling down on time travel), and Extended Hookshot iirc (at least Water Temple's item, but not completion).

For reaching it I mean... I don't remember how much you needed the Hover Boots to complete Spirit. I think I might have done without them, but I'm also not sure?

I thought you have to use the hover boots to reach it. But maybe Im remembering it wrong...

It's perfectly possible to do Spirit without Hover Boots; the hardest "trick" is jumpslashing to reach a silver rupee.

Accessing Shadow requires all three of Forest, Fire and Water beaten. Only then will the cutscene be triggered.

I heard that once back in 98/99 and goodness has it been that long? Anyways, no, you don't need the Hover Boots at all for even reaching Spirit Temple. I vaguely recall using them to reach some dude on a floating carpet, but not really needing anything from that guy, or even to reach him. If you have the Hook shot or Longshot, I think the latter, you just look out for the next wooden pole and latch over to it, skipping the floating carpet guy. Then the next, and so on, until you reach the stone structure, and are left with needing to use your Lens of Truth to follow a Poe to the oasis where Spirit Temple is located.

Iirc there's a silver rupee puzzle in the Spirit Temple that you need to do to continue. One of them is floating in the air and Link can't jump far enough to reach it so you need the Hover Boots. I'm sure there's some trick or exploit or whatever to get it without the boots but I got stuck there when I tried skipping the Shadow Temple. This was years ago though so I could be remembering wrong.

If it's the one I am thinking of then use the Longshot/Hookshot on the climbable brick surface of one wall, standing opposite to the wall from the floating silver rupee.

Doing the same things over and over again in games isn't really fun. That's why games increasingly have more checkpoints and start moving away from lives/game overs entirely.

(I like MM, but don't like this logic)

I heard there was some weird trick people used to get it. Why they went through all that trouble to finish it before shadow, Im not sure. Could just get the boots and leave...
