"Why are you assuming Hitler didn't just want to watch the world burn? I mean he didn't win his war so maybe he never intended to and just wanted to fuck shit up!"

Why do people think this man is intelligent again?

In what sense is it anymore plausible than anything else that is made up based on looking at outcome instead of the situation in context?

I guess Japan wanted to lose the war or they wouldn't have hit Pearl Harbor on a day when the carriers weren't anchored.

Given how catastrophically evil his policies were, I would say thats definitely a plausible theory

I'm no historian or Jordan Peterson fan but off my fuzzy memory Hitler did make some bad decisions at the end that lead to the Nazi downfall. Attacking Russia making him fight on two fronts. Attacking Russia in winter.

I don't think it's genius just more plausible than implausible.

Hitler being a terrible strategist and colossal idiot does not make it plausible that he didnt want to win

Hitler, as well as the rest of the party in general, were also addicted to methamphetamine through pill form, not to mention other various barbiturates and other opiates like oxycodone. They were also extremely paranoid and irrational people, and there's some thought itself that his suicide was linked to going through withdrawals as the war started to go south and his doctor lost access to these drugs.

I'd place far more money on his bad decisions being linked to that instead of some super villain who wanted to see the world burn.

https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/200578/difference-between-possible-probable-plausible?noredirect=1&lq=1

Possible = It is not impossible. There is no proof to suggest that it could not be achieved or that it couldn't occur.

Plausible = This doesn't sound impossible. As with "possible", there does not seem to be any proof to suggest that it could not be achieved, but it is not definitively possible - it just sounds like it is.

Probable = There is a good chance of this happening. Not 100%, but better than 50%.

This poster is explaining how I've always felt the three to mean. Word strength is a tricky subject.

That's fucking stupid. Hitler litrally sold his diary to people and then wrote a second one. We know what he wanted.

Step 1: get into art school... (failed)

Second Step 1: take over Europe and kill people he didn't like and somehow befriend Britain while fighting them (failed)

Third Step 1: kill himself before the Russians arrive (completed)

There's a lot of information out there about rampant drug use, and not like pot and stuff, but more medically created substances like what I mentioned, throughout the entire rise and fall of the party. The Nazi's viewed themselves as superior in all aspects, and being advanced enough in the science and medical studies to create what you thought was "super pills" to alleviate all the issues a person may have is right up their alley. The march on Paris, for example, has a ton of stories of methamphetamine use to be able to travel the distance at the pace that they did.

Granted other nations, specifically the US aren't innocent in using shit like that either, with their mass embrace of shit like Speed and other amphetamines. It's just that US never was, or has depending on your opinion if use is still prevalent, in a position where the supply chain to these substances were cut off.
