Wondering the same tbh, it's supposed to be pretty good from what I understand.

N. Couldn't make it past the first episode because of cringy fedorabro "badass" main character. Typical scyfy cringe trash.

yeah you have to get past the horrible (and somewhat confusing) first few episodes. The internet overhypes it like with everything else but it's pretty good

You should have powered through. I felt the same way at first but it gets really good.

So far, I think The Expanse and Altered Carbon are the best scifi series this decade. They both have a mature, non-condescending atmosphere about them.
The Expanse in particular makes for an interesting concept in that it focuses on the societal ramifications of extraterrestrial colonization.

Only downside is that this series reuses a type of antagonist that has been overused this past decade (parasitical space bugs, specifically the kind that turns infected hosts into husk-looking creatures from Mass Effect).
Nothing I can't live with though. Still very much looking forward to season 3.

One time, CE triggered me so hard with their objectively wrong opinions that I accidentally punched myself in the balls.

Every single antagonist in The Expanse has been human. Every last one. Including the books. The only things that might be considered antagonists that aren't human are the "Bullets", but they don't do much of anything, at least not yet. The protomolecule is just a hyper advanced organic building material that humans turned into a bioweapon.

That aside, great show that will never make it up to the truly great parts in the books.

There's something a bit off about the way the show is shot, i can't quite place my finger on it. But i am enjoying it.

I was reading the books already, so i'm way ahead, but still enjoying the show. At first i really wasn't sold on the casting for Amos, but the actor has really grown on me.

At first they tried to have him be super serious, and they slowly turned him into what we was supposed to be, an unfeeling killing machine with a dark sense of humor and a fierce loyalty to his "family". The actor was amazing once he actually got to play Amos the way he is supposed to be.
