Did it have any positive affects? Negative? And feel free to post here if you have depression but chose not to take medication, and what you do to overcome depression.

Alcohol made it worse. Cannabis and synthetic cannabis (legal at the time here, not legal anymore) both helped a lot. Never tried the prescription stuff, though I know people who have, some of whom said it helped, some of whom didn't.

Quite a few didn't work, and what's worse is that in addition to not working they made my peepee not work right. My psych told me that they're also prescribed for premature ejaculation. fuckin premies

SSRIs didn't do anything for me except give me limp dick. Zoloft at least helped my anxiety and Trazodone was working for insomnia for a bit.

Only antidepressant that works for me is bupropion. It's amazing, only side effect is some slight manic symptoms. Other than that it's an extra cup of coffee in the morning and my dick works fine.

Only negatives for the most part. One gave me panic attacks, several kinds just made me feel completely numb and empty, all of them utterly killed my sex drive and ability to get off. The only remotely useful prescribed antidepressant for me is amitriptyline, which helped reduce intensity and frequency of both anxiety attacks and migraines.

I find cannabis to be very hit or miss. Usually it puts me in a really negative headspace and often gives me anxiety and psychotic hallucinations and delusions, so i avoid it. Kratom seems to be helping quite a bit, though it's very subtle. CBD oil helps, with no downsides (also no psychoactive effects).

Didnt really do much for me. I got more out of just talking in therapy and going to the gym than the medicine.

The anxiety meds fucked me over pretty good tho. They stopped the panic attacks but god damn was my vision blurry had zero erection and was generally unlively.

What do you mean by manic symptoms? I'm starting on bupropion for the first time, my very first anti depressant. Been doing a lot of research on it but it's always nice to know more from other people and their experiences.

They help me, the only that sucked is that the first 2 weeks or so I couldnt climax.

I take Effexor XR

It was back in the late 90s, I was on paxil and I couldn't climax at all. My girlfriend at the time loved it but I didn't lol.

What do you mean by manic symptoms? I'm starting on bupropion for the first time, my very first anti depressant. Been doing a lot of research on it but it's always nice to know more from other people and their experiences.

I don't need to sleep as much, I can be jittery and slightly impulsive if I take it in the afternoon, actually increased my libido. It's not major at all and I've never been tipped into a full blown episode. I may also be different since I'm bipolar so I get those symptoms anyways
