Board 8 > Bayonetta vs. Riku! An experiment!

I see some battles that get close, or super one sided, and I try to guess the fanbases thought processes. I'd like to gather a test sample with this one.

Bayonetta doesn't have many games, but they were well received. Plus, she's an iconic (or at least recognisable) woman, who's relatively attractive. She's also been added to Smash Bros., which has added to her popularity. But her odd proportions, vulgarity and her 'overpowered' moveset in Smash have likely garnered her some aversion, or even anomisty.

Riku is from Kingdom Hearts, a well known fan favorite Disney/Square Enix franchise from the PS2 era. While KH3 has taken its sweet time, other games have been released since, and Riku being a main character (the brooding best friend type) has guaranteed him a fan base. But his cliche character type doesn't please everyone, and the convoluted plot and whimsical nature of Kingdom Hearts is often scrutinized, even mocked outright, making it clear that the series has it's fair share of critics and/or haters.

Everyone has their reasons. Why did you vote the way you did?

A little bit of one and two. I'm not precisely a Bayonetta fan or anything, but I like her well enough. And while I like Kingdom Hearts, I find both Sora and Riku very aggravating.

Similar to Surskit. I like Bayonetta a little and don't like KH at all.

This - I voted for Riku purely because of my bracket, as I don't particularly like or dislike either of these characters.

1 and 3 but voted for 3.
I know Riku is from Kingdom Hearts but that's about it.

Yeeess, very interesting. It seems Bayonetta's recent relevance, plus her fun personality, was more than enough for a thorough trouncing of the brooding, best friend anime boy. Though I do wonder what the results would be after KH3 comes out.

How can people like Bayonetta is the real question? She's ugly. Uglier in the sequel with the Lesbian haircut, she's a Mary Sue who has none of Dante's humane traits and as such she's horribly obnoxious. To the point it's hard to believe she can take anything seriously. She is shit. And her games are complete shit. If it wasn't for Nintendo's literal Bailout Money they would have canned this piece of shit series years ago. And the only reason this undeserving piece of shit is in Smash is because of Nintendo's Bailout Money.

Bayonetta is shit and anyone who enjoys her games is a loser with shit taste in women. Thank god for next year's true action game Devil May Cry 5. Fuck Bayonetta and death to Hideki Kamiya the hack.
