Assuming you're roughly the same age as me, it's unfortunate they were/still are kind of a joke to people our age. They just got memed because when YouTube first came out, literally half of all the videos were AMVs made of Dragon Ball Z to either Crawling or Numb, which are really nothing like anything else they've ever done.
