until they apparently lost the last few pages of the script.

We never see if the grocery store ever got repaired, whether they returned the diamonds, the uncle's reaction to seeing the Bronx in ruins, any satisfactory comeuppance for the villain (gets embarrassed after causing a billion bucks of damage and like a dozen deaths) or anything, lol.

Apparently Jackie was just like "you know what nobody cares what happens after the hovercraft scene" lol.

I guess that's a pretty safe bet but there's still a lot left unresolved.

I kept feeling like the uncle's return would have a major impact on the story and maybe the reward for finding the diamonds would cover the supermarket, but instead they apparently forgot about all three of those.

That was actually my first exposure to Jackie Chan, almost 20 years ago now. I was surprised how relatively tame all his subsequent movies were.
