These mercenaries have like the same health as the bosses and holy crap do the levels suck... Enemies literally one or two levels above you wreck you and leveling is freaking annoying as fuck!

The only part of the game where I ever felt that I needed to grind was the part of the main quest where it jumps straight from level 26 to level 32. If anything, I felt I was leveling a little too fast apart from that.

At level 37 and still waiting for this level grind I keep hearing about.

The grind is on purpose to make you buy micro transactions. They literally broke the experience curve so you would pay to buy the fixed XP rate.

This is why microtransactions are NEVER optional, the game is made worse on purpose to make it so you feel like there is a point to buying them.

Microtransactions are there to take advantage of the people with no patience and no financial sense. They don't affect the rest of the game at all. Calling them mandatory is just being alarmist.

It hasn't seemed like a grind to me. If one of the main quests is too high there are still several other side quests that will boost me when I finish them.

I mean, obviously they're going to affect the game if you buy them, but if you don't buy them the game still proceeds completely normally

I hit level 47 and turned the difficulty to easy. I just wanted to finish up the main stuff, but to do the Isu stuff you gotta be 49 since stuff even one level above you wrecks your world.

... sounds like you havent played the game at all. There is no grinding, the game is made in a way so that you dont just go after the main quest storyline, it wants you to do the side missions as well as completing locations. Its the same thing The Witcher 3 did, its the devs getting you to explore their game world.

There are valid complaints with this game, microtransactions is not one of them.

The only time I felt like there was a grind was between 1-5 because the first misthios I came across was level 5.

It's been fine since then. I'm actually disappointed that there's so much to do that I've hit the level cap and I've still got about 1/3 of the map in shadows and gave up systematically cleaning up all the locations and objectives once I got to Athens.
