I feel like I can never set it right. It always seems like it's too fast and wipes off only a couple drops. Or it's too slow and the window is cover with layers of water before they actually wipe anything off. But I also don't like the squeaking sound they make if they rub with not enough water or whatever...

Hah. I feel the same with mine though I think there is an option to enable/disable the wiper speed based on the vehicle speed.

Wiper speed is no more an exact science than meteorology.

I just increase speed, as if activating it manually, until it reaches a point where they trigger before I can get to it. Then the rain changes, and wipes away my efforts.
