List of new features: Corporate Culture: Chief Executive Officers of a MegaCorp can conduct business on a galaxy-wide scale with a host of new civics. By building Branch Offices on planets within empires they have trade agreements with, the MegaCorp can add a portion of the planets Trade Value to their own network. Using the new Corporate Authority, construct an economic powerhouse and dominate galactic trade - for a brighter future. A nice excuse for me to install the game again in the near future --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. Started on: 12/1/2009 https://imgur.com/mPvcy ... Is this coming with the Le Guin patch, or is it separate? No word on the release date for Le Guin or this but I think they'll be released together like Distant Stars was with Niven or Apocalypse was with Cherryh --- Not removing this until Mega Man 64 is released on the Wii Virtual Console. I was waiting for a release date to post about it. But, we can ball-park it!
Leviathans announced 15 September, released 20 October Utopia 02 Februray / 06 April Synthetic Dawn 03 August / 21 September Apocalypse 11 January / 22 February Distant Stars 23 April / 22 May Based on that, an early December-January release seems most likely. It's accompanied by the massive Le Guin patch, which is overhauling the game's economic and demographic systems(tiles have been abolished). ... Copied to Clipboard!

Today's dev diary on how playing a megacorp works. A few major take-aways: 1) More of a megacorps pops produce trade value 2) Megacorps have their own civic picks. If you don't have the Megacorp expansion, the old generic civic will still be available 3) Megacorps suffer more from going over the empire size cap 4) Megacorps can open branch offices on the worlds of other empire's. This is mutually beneficial, and scales according to how populous the world is. Megacorps can build special buildings on these worlds which primarily benefit them. 5) Even if a civ cuts off trade with a megacorp, their branch offices remain open and must be removed via a special CB(Expropriation). Victory awards the attacker with a lump sum of energy credits based on how many branch offices were removed. 6) Megacorps cannot have normal vassals, only subsidiaries. Subsidiaries are mostly independent, but must join their overlord in all of their wars and pay them 25% of their energy income. There are two special Megacorp civics: 1)Criminal Heritage(cannot be removed) Yup, you can play as a gang or cartel, and get your Jabba on! A) Branch offices work differently: a crime syndicate simply opens up shop without asking anyone's permission, and makes profit from crime. They can build buildings to increase crime(and thus their profits). The host civ can either just accept the crime, or use law enforcement to deal with the problem. 2)Gospel of the Masses You can be a Megachurch and suck those suckers dry in the name(s) of your God(s). They generally increase Spiritualist ethics attraction in addition to normal Megacorp stuff, so they could be quite the pain for Materialists. And, of course, you can combine this with the above. ...
