Still see it fairly often, and I don't even look for it given that it's got zero appeal to me.

i bought it by mistake the other month. i was disappointed. it was just like super chewy bacon that was left sitting out for way too long.

they sell jerky at like every grocery store. it's like everywhere around here but way too expensive for a few pieces. only time i get it is when it's on sale but even then it's still like $4 at the cheapest and just a few pieces in a bag.

I used to love beef jerky when I could get a bag for $3-$4. Now it's minimum $7 for the basic shit, anything of actual quality is $10 or more.

I'm not spending $10 on beef jerky when I can get a whole takeout meal for that much, or buy grocery store food to last me a week for that much.

The only mass market jerky I feel is even worth the price is Crave. Still, with $8 a bag I only get it either at Christmas, to take hiking, or a long road trip

Deer jerky is one of the main reasons I go hunting every year. I love making my own and trying different recipes, and one deer will give me about 8 bags worth

Deer jerky is delicious. Also, bison jerky is so much better than beef jerky too. Much more tender with more marbling since the bison are typically grass fed.

Is the term "jerky" deriving from the verb "to jerk", are they in any way semantically related ? (I'm French). Thanks in advance.

I'm considering getting a meat dryer rack for this very reason. Problem is you've gotta buy like $60 worth of meat to make it worthwhile.

Beef Jerky is expensive because it required a huge amount of premium meat to make a small amount of jerky.

Bro, get a smoker. Seriously you an do so much with them.

Recently my bro and I made a Cajun bake in his. Potatoes, corn on the cob, apples, then when it's almost done we threw shrimp in it with that, with all the necessary herbs and spices, and it was a huge hit.

We've made some amazing roasts in there too.

I more mean in terms of ventilation. It's a bbq for intents and purposes right? Don't you need to be outdoor for that?

the only time i tend to buy jerky is on the times in which i have to go to the dollar tree.
due to the fact there's nothing i can eat for an entire hour before heading back home because i don't want to spend 7$ on a panda express meal.
