Haven't trailers already showed some man on man action? They're not covering it up.

But if it's true about the retconning him having AIDS during Live Aid, that's pretty bad.

This is a biopic. His sexuality may not have been his identity, but it played a part in his contraction of AIDS which resulted in his death.

This. They have a right to not discuss it, it just then becomes something other than a biopic. The NWA movie "Straight Outta Compton" had the same issue.

What was left out of the NWA movie?

I havent seen it yet so Im genuinely curious

Live Aid was two years before his diagnosis. It's the fact that the movie ends with Live Aid that's questionable.

It makes sense to end on their best performance

Bunch of people complaining about something they haven't seen. Just because of a certain word. This place is just too much fun.

most negative reviews seem disappointed it didnt go the way of delving into Mercurys personal life and instead gives a basic rock flick retrospective of the bands success as a whole
its not too shocking the remaining members might lean that way

This is what I was talking about before btw.

At least they obviously moved on from "Freddie dies in the middle of the movie".

Not so much when the part that came after would have been about their last performances and Mercury's very noteworthy decline and eventual death from AIDS.

If this were about The Four Seasons or something and the movie skips the decades where they didn't do much of anything, okay. But the guy's health started obviously declining shortly after the point where the movie ends, and he died just five years later. No way that should be skipped.

They wanted to end on a high note with Freddie at his best instead of showing us a sickly and depressing decline. It doesnt seem like a bad thing to me
