Let's say you stopped reading a certain book for whatever reason, do you start over? Read a summary of it online? Start where you left off from? There's a few books I've been reading and I'm not sure if I should start over or just read a summary of it online.

Restart where I left off if I can easily refresh my memory of the parts I've already read, AND it's not one of those books where it pays to know all the little details for max enjoyment, e.g. detective stories.
Read again from the very beginning otherwise. Regarding whether I can refresh my memory or not, a good way to find out is to not use any bookmarks whatsoever. If I can't find my way back to where I originally was without help, then obviously I'm not familiar enough with the contents and must start over. I read the previous chapter. If it comes back I continue if it doesn't I start over.
