People have so many problems with their cars. Well, the brands I've seen. Ford, Cadillac and Chrysler are a few that are having troubles around me. I've had my Honda for 5 years. The only problem I had was the airbags got recalled and had to be replaced by the dealership. That's it. People around me are having so many problems with their cars and I'm sitting here with my reliable Honda

My 2007 Fit is still running like a charm, no unexpected issues whatsoever (except the same airbag recall)

Parents got me a 2018 Fit after handing my brother the 2007 because he wrecked his car

Don't understand why anyone would buy American

Deir trucks suck doe

My uncle has a Honda Truck that doesn't give him problems. It's not great for doing what trucks do with that small bed though...

Honda's have always been easy to work on since their core design hasn't changed much for the smaller engines.

Idk why American companies always seek crazy "improvements" rather than slight adjustments to what works

Did they ever start fixing the timing belt issue? For awhile that seemed to be the only universal black mark on Honda's record.

Otherwise, can confirm the OP. I've driven Hondas for the majority of my adult life, and their issues have been minimal (half of the issues were the result of field mice invasion).

Idk if they did but the last Honda I worked on with my neighbor had that issue. A 2002

Supposedly they stopped cheaping out on them and switched to steel(?) belts in the mid-00's. My current car's an '05, so I have no idea if I'm at risk or not.

I wouldn't touch their trucks for serious stuff... seriously the element has a max pass/cargo capacity of 600 pounds when a early 90's camry is 950ish. The hell you gonna do in some outdoorsy utility vehicle that apparently can't hold all 5 passengers unless they're lightweight adults or children.

Another black mark would be their ignition cylinders from around the mid 90's to earlier. They're super easy to bypass/defeat, letting them start with no effort. Making them tutorial difficulty level for car theft. I assume they've sorted that out since based on things.

I wouldn't mind em, they're still one of the few manufacturers that hasn't done something dumb to make me dislike em. I still wouldn't touch their trucks for silly reasons, such as the spare tire of the ridgeline being within a compartment at the bottom of the bed(unless they've changed it recently). So if you've got a load, good luck. Nope, just looked... still within a compartment within... whyyyy.

You just gotta know what to get with the other brands. Ford Rangers can last for an absurdly long time if you take care of them

The model I have (2006) has great reviews

the 90s was the golden age for most japanese manufacturers like toyota, honda, nissan, mitsubishi, etc

funnily enough, i'd say current mazda is closer to 90's honda than current honda is
