This is the destruction of the Institut fr Sexualwissenschaft all over again. Even if you don't personally see them as their new gender, it's not that hard to just call them what they prefer. No one's saying you have to fuck them.

Not hard but also not happening. Certain personality types will just call it as they see it. Like if some dude asked me to call him a girl...I'd pretty much say no. Same with a girl asking me to call her a guy. Because...it's simply not true.

So using that logic, I could see someone not wanting to call Transgenders their chosen gender.

While I don't really intend to butt in: it's "weird" insofar as cis people don't really have that drive to "change" their gender, unlike trans people. So it might help to frame it in the mindset of gender dysphoria and whatnot.

(Though I think it's fair to say "change" isn't the right word in a lot of situations. I feel it's more in the vein of "you were always this gender, but it wasn't aligned with your sex when it is for most people, and just didn't know how to put words to your feelings," in a sense? I don't know, I'm bad with words.)
