Absolutely. No idea how theyre still going. None of them are particularly any good. I mean rob is a good bass player. James is a good rhythm guitar player

He's alright on the earlier albums. Technical skill isn't everything. His playing fit those records and that's all that was needed.

Metallica have been shitty since the s/t and it's not just because of him. His solos on that record were probably actually the highlight.

He's fine. Not the greatest, but fine. Same for Lars. People slag him off too. He screws up, but he's not terrible like people make him out to be.

I like Lars' drumming. Technical skill really isn't everything. He made creative use of his limited skill set.

His leads were fine on the early albums. Not amazing, but still pretty damn good. He's definitely lost a few steps over the years.

It's almost like Metallica haven't been good in about 25 years.

Only a dolt would apply the sentiment itt to the pre black album days.

I never liked his overuse of wah. I think a lot of guitar players use it to cover up otherwise shitty playing since you can just engage it, sloppily "wank" and then it still sounds kind of badass despite being a mess.

James is pretty ridiculous on rhythm. Granted, I can't name a ton of great rhythm players off the top of my head but I think he'd be up close to the top of my own personal list. Lots of great riffs (especially the early days) and being able to dedicated downpick so fast and cleanly like that is nuts. My wrist would be screaming after one song, lol

I think Kerry is still better. Kirk doesnt write anything. He leaves it to James, and then comes in at the end to lay down a haphazard solo. Pure junk

Disposable heroes is almost impossible to play all the way through without breaking your damn wrist
