Near the end of the saga when Gohan finally unlocks his rage and defeats perfect cell. His hair gets longer and spikier. What is that, especially in comparison to Vegeta's super saiyanness post hyperbole time chamber, AND in comparison to Trunks' super saiyanness post Vegeta's loss with perfect cell.

At the time, Goku basically surmised that it was Gohan's own potential and ultimately something only he could do to go beyond Super Saiyan and the true "next level" of power, something that Vegeta and Trunks were trying and failing to do.
Only after the manga continued and didn't end at the Cell Saga did they more or less explain it away as a proper "2" that any committed enough Saiyan could reach. Gohan's hidden potential was then made into what people typically call "Mystic Gohan". --- CyricZ ... Copied to Clipboard!
