No because it can be used as a synonym for sad in that context

You can feel depressed. Doesn't mean you ARE depressed.

Depression is like being locked in a dark bathroom while under a cold shower at your own birthday party with everyone telling you to come out, but you can't get out.

Being sad is an emotion that everyone experiences and will usually just take some time to process.

I think I disagree with this. I was severely depressed as in I had years where I mostly only stayed awake when I couldn't sleep anymore, I had social anxiety more than not making me not enjoy other people and without medication I got it down to just feeling sad some mornings like the normal joe. What's more is that the physical ailments that contributed to most of my depression are worse than they were when I was depressed. I also didn't get any new friends or job. Though I was pretty satisfied with my fam and friends anyway. Basically my life worse yet Im not as stressed about it.

Though some could argue my new "Don't care about anything" mindstate is a form of depression it doesn't really feel like it to me at this time. And when I say don't care I mean like have a severe pain in my stomach and just wait it out then laugh at tv or get hype to music. I think when you have so many physical ailments you just start getting tired of it also bullying you into depression.
