Being a prisoner is one thing, but you ever think about what it's like to actually work in such a dehumanizing place? What must that do to a person's psyche?

I mean someone has to do the job of guarding the prison, but it must be so draining and exhausting in every possible way.

Prison guards at scandinavian countries have it good. Sometimes they even have friendly interaction with the prisoners.

My dad was a counselor at a youth prison. He was really serious about rehabilitation and making sure that the wards left as better people, but things always get rough, especially when rival factions are confined in the same space.

I still remember days of him coming home smelling of mace and sporting fresh bruises.
