Night, for more or less the same reason I'd pick cold over hot. It's easier to light up than darken down.

Daylight. When you don't have power for artificial light, it's terribly more difficult to be productive. You'll end up sleeping more often than not. Of course, if you live in a place with consistent power and no outages, I suppose this is a moot point.
