Western culture is really just a bunch of differing regional customs when it comes to food, to the point to where 30 miles can change things dramatically, Hell, sometimes going next door does. People looking wide eyed at behaviors they feel are out of the norm disappears the more people you put into the equation. A town of 11000 May find that odd, but somewhere where there are 100000s to millions arent going to bat an eye. Isolated regions typically are the ones that find certain choices to be weird or displeasing... but places that have more exposure to other people, other customs, other preferences?
