Lack of combat and the supernatural elements of the story aside, this is a great game.

8/10

Really hoping the DLC adds more combat centric things to do though. This game has enough exploration to last me a life time. Now to beat the game again on the hardest difficulty for the platinum.

I think the DLC is just going to be bonus tombs, so I dunno how high your expectations should be set.

But yeah, the story was the weakpoint, but it was marginally better than Rise's overall. The gameplay improvements -- like rappelling off rocky cliffs and climbing overhangs -- were pretty good, although only the former saw a ton of use. I'm just glad the terrible Trinity-centric story is over (don't jinx it?) and maybe the series can move on to newer, better heights.

Remember Tomb Raider 3 when Lara just flat out murders a bunch of innocent hard working US military sericement and sets a bunch of violent prisoners free?

Back when the games were British and they could pull that off.

Just imagine if they had the balls to do that now.

Imagine the outcry.

What makes you think they will make a fourth? Obviously the tomb raider series will continue in some form but I strongly doubt the same actors and team will come back rather then the series getting a full reboot /revival in 5 years.

I thought it was bad compared to the previous 2. Definitely a downgrade.
