Is it gonna be Fallout with multiplayer? Or, is it gonna be Ark: post apocalypse edition?

Gameplay demo is incoming, but what are your thoughts just based on what you've seen from videos and reading material?

Weve seen a ton of gameplay

Its just Fallout 4 multiplayer, with some new enemies but it all looks the same, even the weapons.

I loved Fallout 4 but Im so tired and burnt out from it.

Plus its going to be on the Bathesda launcher only, no Steam version. Dont want to deal with another launcher program.

Every Fallout game looks the same.

Not a lot of different ways to design a nuclear wasteland.

I've heard a lot of comparisons to some game called rust, but I've never played that game.

I just hope the game is just Fallout with multiplayer, and not an ark or minecraft clone.

I mean, survival elements are fine, but on the whole of things, I want fallout.

If they just stick to the fallout formula, with moderate tweeks to compensate for multiplayer, then I'm golden. Kind of like the changes that are being done to vats. Since you can't exactly slow the game world down for everyone, anytime someone enters vats, they are just doing vats in real time. Everything else about vats, that I know of, is remaining traditional.

I love Fallout but I have 0 interest in those multiplayer survival games so I'm very on the fence about it, strongly leaning toward just not buying it. I'll probably barely play it as is due the lack of interest in the genre, and I don't really have a core group of gaming friends that I'd be able to play with to make it more enjoyable.

That's my fear. I want just fallout with MP, but I have this creeping dread that THAT isn't what we are going to get.

Everything I have seen makes it sound like a game I have absolutely no interest in.

It sounds like all of the worst aspects of GTA Online, but at least I can do some solo stuff against (admittedly overpowered) NPC's in GTA Online if I don't feel like getting harassed.

But I get that there are people that want this so it's whatever. I'm just pretty sure gaming is passing me by at this point.

I heard rummors of private servers, so you coudl potentially play with just yourself, and maybe some friends.

It's for a new crowd that I am not in. Always online means I cant always play it. Multiplayer focused means I cant just go through solo and experience the story. Online only means it will likely only have paid mods and you cant play it as you like.

It's a pretty hard pass for me.

But if there aren't any NPCs why would you want to shuckle?

From what I gather, there aren't any human NPCs, as the game timeline is only, like, 10 years after the bombs dropped. You're basically the first humans on the surface since the nuke, so there hasn't been enough time for civilization to start cropping back up.

However, there are suppose to be friendly NPC robots that can dispense quests. Also, there're rumored to be holo tapes scattered throughout that gameword that are quest starters. All other NPCs are mutated monsteres, similar to the mutants of classic fallout games. Any human you see, tho, are player controlled.

If they do this thing right, it could be amazing. Or it could be an absolute garbage disposal facility.

The two things I liked most about Fallout 4 were looting and building.

The map is four times the size of Fallout 4s huge map. And, its much more focused on building.

The only downside for me, is dealing with the occasional douchebag until private servers happen.
