Conservative America are on the verge of a DREAM after decades in making a tilt in the balance of power on the Supreme Court despite already holding a 5-4 majority.

However, this appointment is different after Trump promised Evangelicals that he would repay them for their vote and Kavanaugh's nomination seems to have given them that promise with a Judge who can tip the favours of conservative america regarding social issues that have been a thorn on their ideals for decades. Judge Anthony Kennedy was always seen as a moderate but always favoured the liberal judges when it came to gay marriage, the Affordabe Care Act and abortion.

The confirmation went ahead as expected after Susan Collins and Jeff Flake and Democrat Joe Manchin voted in favour of the judge today.

Republicans now have enough votes to tip the balance and given his age at 53, he has the opportunity to reshape American law for decades on his lifelong appointtment despite Democrat opponents complaining his fiery performance at a confirmation hearing shows his lack of temperament to rule with fairness and restraint as well as unhinged outrage on sexual assault claims.

He wrote in 2009 that a sitting president CANNOT be indicted and should be IMMUNED from prosecution which may have been a strong reason why he was chosen as judge considering Trump's own battle with the FBI on possible impeachment on charges of obstruction or collusion. He said a president's job is far more difficult than any other civil position in goverment and that he should focus on his job on few distractions as possible.

He said that Roe V Wade was an "important precedent" but his background suggests otherewise as he would be open to further restrictions on topics and timing or notification of abortions or restrictions on doctors or providers. In 2003 he wrote "i am not sure that all legal scholars refer to Roe as the settled law of the land at the Supreme Court level since Court can always overrule its precedent and three curretn Judges on the Court would do so"

Gay Rights is another law he can overturn after Kennedy provided the 5th vote to strike down bans on gay marriage in 2015 which he also claimed was an "important precedent" and wouldn't overturn the ruling as well.

The ACA ruling is where he declined to say how he might rule on cases that might come before the court on healthcare as when he was asked how he would rule on the law's ban on insurance companies denying care to those with pre-existing conditions, he was coy and said "I can't give assurances on a specific hypothetical". Trump has made repealing Obamacare a top campaign issue but failed to roll it back after John McCain voted against it.

Despite what he said in court, all of it can change as conservatives are hopeful that he will do them justice after years of trying to get the courts on their side when it comes to progressive social issues that have been a staple in american politics and to revert back to the "old days" where being gay marriage wasn't socially acceptable and abortion was a crime..

I think it's ironic that Norma McCorvey (aka "Jane Roe" herself) was strongly against abortion later in her life. If she could, she'd have had her own case overturned.

What people have to understand is that, for the Supreme Court to decide on anything, a case has to go through the entire process of the court system to reach the Supreme Court, and THEN the Justices would have to decide whether or not to hear it. Kavanaugh will not be able to protect Trump and his buddies as they're busted for various crimes, for instance, unless a case reaches the same court regarding the President's full power of pardon, or the ability to be subpoenaed.

So, you know, in the time such a case would take to reach the top, election day this year will come, and people can retaliate against the Senate if they truly desire it, by removing the entitled, enabled fossils from those respective seats. The legal process will still be there, but the political shitshow will be plain as day for everyone to see, and we can see if Kavanaugh misbehaves enough for action to be taken towards potential removal.

That's what I speculate as of yet.
