Thanos motivation was absurdly childish, not enough resources so kill people? What? That's a child's idea of how to solve the overpopulation problem if that's what the movie is paralleling.
More so than that, isn't this a world of magic and mumbo jumbo? With all 6 infinity stones couldn't he just buy more cake? That is to say, can't he just make more resources out of thin air or what exactly are they good for. At this point, the only thing that can save the series is if they have squirrel girl give the defeating blow to Thanos. Only way to redeem the franchise. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

His whole thing is that everything should be perfectly balanced. If he used to gauntlet tojist create more resources then overpopulation would still continue and eventually theyd be right back where they started. Plus he wanted to prove that his genocide idea was right and that it wouldve saved his people if they had listened to him. It was mostly a matter of pride

1. The Infinity Stones have never been shown to create matter, only to change it. Notice how in the fight on the remnants of Titan, he didn't "create" a giant meteor shower. He ripped apart a moon and turned it into a meteor shower. Infinity Stones are not omnipotent.
2. He is an idealogue. Obviously there are a lot of different ways to tackle the issue. However, he wholeheartedly believes the only way to deal with it that is fair and does not incorporate bias is basically a lottery system of who lives and who dies. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I feel like the comic book version of him wanting to take Death out on a date or whatever would have been more fun to see. I just didn't enjoy Avengers 3 that much and I'm really disappointed because every phase 3 movie was a hit that I liked and this wasn't. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

It's interesting in that you're definitely in the minority. Not that it would make you "wrong" or anything of that nature. More like it's curious when people have an opinion that runs counter to general populace.

The death thing was really really dumb in the comics. Made Thanos out to be both goofy and all-powerful at the same time, which really clashed for me. The movie portrays him to be far more sympathetic despite being a maniac
I think Avengers 3 is comfortably the best movie in the MCU. It could've been a disaster but was the absolute opposite --- "Iwata was awesome" - Mr. Nintendo https://imgur.com/JGJqvwW ... Copied to Clipboard!

His motivation and reasoning. It's just too much like that stupid kingsman movie and the villain samuel l jackson plays, it's the reason why I disliked that movie (among other things of course)
I mean, in this huge universe with alternate dimensions and whatnot as seen in dr strange, and quantum reality scifi thingamabobs as seen in antman, in this gigantic universe with all this stuff, a problem like finite resources does not even seem like a thing, and it's an utter nonsense problem and motivation as a result. It doesn't work to parallel a problem that our one planet has when you have an infinite universe. And ok so the world is half. Then people will just repopulate again. So what is his idea, a purge thing every few decades to make the population half again? That's not a long term solution. That's not even a real solution, which is why I keep reiterating how childish it is and not something a full grown ass adult comes up with. And honestly the more I think about it the more asinine everything about avengers 3 and thanos seems. I would have been fine with just a big strong bad guy for them to take down, maybe add the courting Death thing for hilarity's sake. Hell Darkseid's anti-life equation goal from DCAU is much more fun to watch than Thanos here (I mention Darkseid since that's who Thanos apparently rips off in the comics) --- ...
