Defying logic? Mario Party is the most fun game to play with friends, period. Get 4 people together with plenty of beers (I still like beer) playing Mario Party and that is a fun ass night.

I'm pretty sure some of the games have had 10 turn versions and even those can get near an hour. I don't think I've ever finished a game above 15 turns lol

It will be half-ass downloadable content like Mario Tennis Aces most likely if they do that. Which is a fucking joke. Nobody talks about Mario Tennis anymore because the game had no meat outside of its solid gameplay.. which got boring quick because you ran out of things to do fast.

Mario Party has no excuse to be like this. People are always going to want to break it out. It should be a finished game out of the box.

Thank god the fucking idiots who decided to do things this way had no hand in Smash (because its obvious from whats been revealed to us)

I grew up as a wee lad with my friends playing MP into the early morning.

That was 20 years ago.

We moved apart and away from each other but still keep in touch and play some online MP.

We were so looking forward to this and to learn it wouldnt contain the board game portion is a deal breaker for us.

Only having 4 boards is shitty as fuck. Does that mean there's not even unlockable boards?

I feel like there should be 6 at a minimum, ideally more. Maybe rework a couple of the old ones from past games and have some "retro" boards, Mario Kart style.

Still probably getting it Friday because I fucking love Mario Party, and I'm hype they're getting rid of the single car shit.

That being said though, I'm not sure if it'll impact my enjoyment of the game. Like, Mario Party is not going to be a game I sit there over and over again playing. It's gonna come out when I have friends over and we don't have anything specific to do.
The chances of me having only 3 friends (or really 2 if you count my boyfriend) over and us playing 4 hour+ maps is a bit crazy. Chances are we're gonna play a couple and call it quits.
And then a few days/weeks later, we'll slowly get around to playing the others. It could be a month before the same people play the same map, and even then we have different characters and games to mix it up in between (and of course co-op modes and such will mix it up further).

So I get the outrage, but I don't think it'll effect my enjoyment of the game so I'm still getting it (plus Amazon texted me while at work that it had shipped).

I'm pretty much where you are. I don't plan on sitting down and playing this game hours on end. It's gonna be a party game for when people come over or when I go visit my family. I'm gonna get this on release Friday, and hell I'l probably be playing Assassin's Creed Odyssey all weekend.
