Theres a small chance I might end up there this summer and would need to find housing in downtown, in the nicer part. My wife and I combined income would be about $130-140k per year. We'd prefer a 2 bedroom since we plan to have a kid soon. Dont care if we are living paycheck to paycheck and dont care to save money. Id only be living there for 3 years.

I have a friend who lives there and is basically living paycheck to paycheck.

Idk the specifics about what she makes/what the rent is; look it up on any rent website if you're planning on moving there...

All I'll say is that she was making roughly the same when she lived near me and was living extremely comfortably from what I could tell.

Actually thats not accurate.

Wife would make about 7k per month, I'd make about 4-5k per month and thats take-home pay, after taxes. So combined we'd make about 11-12k per month. We are willing to spend a large part of that on rent, prolly like 3k per month +/- a few hundred.

What I meant with this topic was to find a bargain neighborhood there 3k per month for a 2 bedroom is doable, despite small floorspace. And just to find out what its like to live there, like driving, parking, transport, walking, safety, etc.
