Again topic title limitations.

I'm running out of meaningful franchises to rank so I thought I'd mush these bioware ones together since they share very similar tones and themes. Just like Fallout and Elder Scrolls.

I'd also probably put ME3 above DA:I if it wasn't for it's utterly atrocious first and last hour which degrade it so much. 95% of that game is excellent but that bad 5% is so bad it tarnishes the entire franchise and led to ME:A being so medicore.

But odds are Mass Effect is much better than whatever game you're currently playing. Just saying..

the Fade part made me put the game down whenever I tried to do a second playthrough, though.

I never got around to playing ME3, since ME2 pretty much killed my interest in the series. Didn't finish Inquisition or Andromeda either.

I'm one of those weird people who really liked DA2.

For all its flaws (and it had them) I still greatly enjoyed the cast and their interactions. Had some great story bits (alongside some just plain stupidity at times)

I'd personally put ME2 in front of DA3, but I haven't played any of the dlc for DA3 so I don't know if that puts it above ME2 or not. But imo they're both better than ME3.

I liked the Fade first time through but GOD does it drag on repeat playthroughs

Thank God PC gamers can mod it out.

Mass Effect 2 was a huge disappointment to me. Sure it was much better in terms of gameplay than the first one... but I just couldn't get into the story as much. After the first one I was really drawn in the lore and trying to figure out the mystery of the citadel and what happened 50,000 years ago and all

I just felt that ME2 took the story in a direction that was just less interesting with the whole Cerberus angle. And as for 3... well sure the ending sucked horribly and they just really pushed the multiplayer on you, but aside from that it was the same as 2... just couldn't pull me in at all.

This is mainly scaled on gameplay, as in how much fun i had with the gameplay..

Cause aside from Andromeda (which was dispointing) i loved the story in all of them.

Except i do care about plot, and isnt that big of a multiplayer fan.

I can enjoy coop multiplayer (Which ME3 is), but i prefer single player sooo much.

I didnt hate the original ending either.. didnt love it either, but then again, ive always preferred sequal hooks over endings anyways.

And DA2 is also pretty high.

ME 2 and 3 are higher mainly because im better at them id say.

Merrill was wonderful, even if a dolt. But that is basically all of DA2s cast tbh.

Merrill and her mirror
Fenris and his brooding (But who can resist romancing to get that wall pushing scene? )
Anders and his whole thing especially if you rival him.
Isabella and her indiscretion
Varric and sister were just great though. Carver too despite being an arse.

Nah

ME2 has great character focus with 12 squadmates, huge amounts of dialogue, loyalty missions etc

But it sacrificed its main plot to do that. The game is kinda weak.

End of ME1 is "The Reapers are coming"
End of ME2 is "The Reapers are coming"

Virtually nothing happens in it. And the little that does happen is a bit dumb.

Nothing might happen in ME2, but there's a lot of substance in that nothing pie. Plus it has the absolute best insanity scaler where shit just doesn't get 400% hp and that's it. Makes subsequent playthroughs really solid.

The first, like, hour of ME2 pretty much killed it for me and it didn't get any better from there. It had all that momentum leading into it from ME1, then they just kill Shepard and bring him back, skipping the story ahead a few months/years.

I never understood why they didn't just pull coma bullshit.

Why did Shepard have to die and then be brought back to life? That's dumb.
