It's like the 3 heart challenge in Zelda. If you can beat the game with self-imposed challenges, it makes the victory sweeter

I don't want to spoil anything if you are on the first couple of chapters, but

*minor spoiler*

In this game, Potentials of non-story squad characters can change by playing through side chapters centered around them. Like not only do they learn new potentials, but their bad potentials can out right be replaced by good ones.

For example, Aulard Abington had a potential "Fix Fixation" where his AP decreases when he fixes a Tank. It was then replaced by a potential called "The Joy of Tanks" where when he repairs a Tank, his repair effectiveness increased and he gets to tank ANOTHER action after.

So they replaced an absolutely shit potential with an over-powered one

Unfortunately, this means that the characters that get their substories unlocked first, become way way better than the rest of the units >_>

There is literally no reason for me to use any other engineer that isn't Aulard until their substories unlock

What does the alcoholic unlock? The ability to tank damage due to not feeling pain?

idk yet. I just got her. I'd imagine that she becomes sober in a side mission and her true potentials are revealed
But I don't want to spoil it by looking it up.
it would be funny if she remained this way throughout the whole game though. I've been using her since I got her. Mostly to get crossfire kills where potentials don't matter/don't proc

She's adorbs but I got her killed :(

I chuckled when I first saw her. No way I'm using a unit who can't see and has bad accuracy though. Fuck that.

Accuracy doesn't really matter much on Troopers since you can just run in and shoot people in the face

Seems she's a drunk because she has severe PTSD, considering her 3rd bane.

But her usefulness would really depend on her boons. They better be good if she has so many penalties

it plays like fire emblem. You move a character to another to attack. Its not a shooter game.

I know that. I just don't remember it being this goddamn slow. And the multiple cutscenes with no option to automatically advance the dialouge was a fucking chore
