My father was just saying that he experienced a lot of outright racism when coming to this country in the 70s. He was literally told by the staff while working at a bank that he "couldn't be above any white person" despite being the best worker. He also received the lowest raise (7%) while the others received up to 25% raises. He ended up quitting and supposedly the bank started doing poorly right after, and had to close that location in Manhattan.

Nothing really, but I'm white so it's not exactly super common. My best friend growing up was treated pretty badly, though, and I was frequently witness to it.

a bunch of minor stuff, like people using the n-word or being followed around the store.

and I used to have this one cop who harassed me a bunch in high school, who assumed that I was a drug dealer.

and I have an "ethnic" name, and he was like, "what does that mean, lion killer"

I think he figured he crossed the line after that one, and stopped bothering me since

Some dudes attempted to beat me up and called me "white boy" and stuff once. I'm not so sure it was outright racism and more just something insulting to say though.

I ran into traffic to escape my ass kicking. I liked my odds of one dude getting hit by a car being less likely than 4 dudes.

that clearly was racism .

IRL no, but I have received death threats online by Turkish people for being Kurdish. Granted, that may have been caused due to me mentioning what political party in Turkey my father supported.

Plenty of times. Had cops follow me on the road, follow me in malls, single me out at parties, people judging me on how I look, people calling me slurs, all types of shit. Just gotta learn to deal with it I guess.

I'm white, so only a handful of times. I've had to deal with ableism before though, for years. Super great.

I've had a few comments about being a black bastard or asking why I don't go back to where I come from over the years. Never been aware of any proper discrimination though.

Being Mexican I can't really remember. One time one mentally ill lady asked where my papers were but i brushed that off.
