how? how is driving slow in the 'fast' lane more dangerous then texting while driving, or tailgating, or weaving?

and hell, lets ignore the fact that 'driving slow in the fast lane' often means driving the speed limit instead of going for a reckless driving ticket.

I'm going 45 in a 45. Driver behind me crosses double yellow line and speeds past me. Driver takes position in front of me. None of this angers me. Driver then slows to 35 and maintains that speed. Now I'm angry. Fuck this person.

If someone is in left lane of interstate and traveling at the speed limit, this is fine. People who get angry at that person for not doing 85 are shitty people and worse drivers.

I ignore tailgaters and don't follow other drivers close enough to worry about brake checks.

I've seen plenty of people text with their voice while driving, phone reads responses out loud to them. No more dangerous than talking to someone on speakerphone while driving.

Weavers annoy me but they only piss me off when they get in front of me and then slow down, like the asshole from paragraph one of this post.

So I voted option one.

Speed up when they see that you're about to switch into their lane.

This is not fine. The left lane SHOULD be used for passing. Regardless, this driver should be in a slower lane. They are interfering with the flow of traffic and putting other drivers at risk.

People who cant stay in their lane. Its usually a combination of the bottom two choices. I can deal with a fast or slow driver. Its dangerous things that set me off, like hugging the inside line and drifting into my lane. When anybody pulls out in a way that makes me use my brakes, then I use my horn, too.

Under Indiana's "slowpoke" law

We don't have that where I live. Commercial vehicles (excluding buses) are not allowed in the left lane - in places where that's posted. That's our only left lane law.

I would type up a lengthy response to this, but I'm on the interstate and need to focus on the road. That law is for the safety of all motorists. It wouldn't surprise me to see your state take a similar measure in the future.
