Now the price of the 10xx GPUs will drop and I can get an amazing device at a lower price.
...well, when I need to upgrade again anyway. Might not be for a while now, I'm pretty happy with my current machine. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

What are the specs of this new beast? 8k? 4K@60fps with just a single card, on almost any game you throw at it, for the 2080 Ti. The 2080 isn't a particularly huge improvement over the 1080 Ti, apart from that it runs less hot. At least, going by a comparison thingy I read. Spooking posted... How much do you think it'll drop by? No idea on exact figures, but I've always gotten really good value for money by buying high-end previous-gen PCs instead of current-gen mid-range ones. --- ... I got a 4k@60 tv i sometimes use. I played all of nier automata on it, and the 1080ti was fine for that. But i mainly game at 1440p@165fps
I looked at some article and saw that there wasnt a massive fps boost for a game they tried it on, like 10 more fps or something. Not worth running out and upgrading --- Posted with GameRaven 3.5.1 ... Copied to Clipboard!

But i mainly game at 1440p@165fps I mean, the 2080 Ti will hit that frame rate at 1440p in some games that the 1080 Ti can't. But it'll be cases where the 1080 Ti would've maybe got around 110 - 130fps, not cases where the 1080 Ti could barely run the thing. didn't benchmarks just come out that show its not that much better than the 1080ti?
but yeah. hopefully prices of the 1080s go down. i have a 1060 and its starting to show its age. though, im tempted to get an AMD card cuz my monitor has freesync. --- DAHYUN = <3 https://i.imgtc.com/sNuiMQr.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!

didn't benchmarks just come out that show its not that much better than the 1080ti? Regular 2080 is only a very slight improvement over the 1080 Ti. 2080 Ti is noticably, though not hugely, better than either. Apparently leaked benchmarks for the 2060 show it to be a huge improvement over the 1060 though. But given the sources, it has to be taken with a grain of salt. (I forget what these were exactly, I just recall noting that the article I was reading expressed strong skepticism about them.) --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

didn't benchmarks just come out that show its not that much better than the 1080ti? My computer has a 960, paired with a 4K display, and I've had no problems with it yet. Even less so for my gf's gaming PC with a 1060 (3GB model), which is also paired with a 4K display - albeit one that doesn't go over 30fps. (Great idea JVC, making a 4K TV that only has HDMI 1.4 >_> to be fair, 4K TVs at all were still pretty rare here when we got it) --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Freesync probably is as well but im not sure if its worth the tradeoff of moving away from nvidia Freesync is fine(as long as you dont buy a shitty monitor with a bad variable refresh range), but AMD is a complete meme past the 580 so you don't really have many options for GPUs to push a 4k monitor or a high refresh rate 1440p monitor I'd have loved to support AMD over Nvidia this gen but the Vega GPUs are just too shitty --- Billy Mays: July 20, 1958 - June 28, 2009 The Greatest ... I'll take an AMD integrated over an Intel HD anyday. You also tend to get more for the same price out of them. But once you're getting into anything beyond integrated or maybe low-end dedicated, you do really need to go NVidia if you want the absolute best (and price is not a problem). --- ...
