are you always supposed to ask something? I've had a couple and they always ask if you have any questions why do they do that?

They do it to see if you're truly interested in the company. "I noticed in the news lately that your company was awarded blah blah blah award for customer service. What are you doing to ensure that your company maintains that reputation?" makes a better impression than "nope."

Yes, you should have some. It shows you have put thought into the job.

Ask about the pension plan, the health-care plan, whether they'd pay for you to get further qualifications... just simple stuff but makes you look like you have invested time.

you look like a dope if you don't have anything prepared. you should at least be asking "what will my duties be" and "what's a typical day look like for someone in this position"

Ask about the particulars of the job you will potentially get there basically. Or go next level and ask a question about the company in general from research you did about them. If this is the first time youre interviewing with that company, you gotta show that you have some real interest in you being inserted into their work culture.

"Want to see my genitals?"

These are the two best questions to ask.

Always ask how much it pays if you weren't told by the interview.

You HAVE to ask something if it's a competitive interview at all. See if you can find something online about the company's future plans and ask about it.

these are terrible questions to ask. that's for HR, not for the hiring manager. ask something work related

When's lunch?

Lol nah I usually ask prepared questions that have to do with the difference between this company and it's competitors. And then I'll be sure to include a question that pertains to a strength of mine or something you can contribute to the business. Like I recently picked up a couple bartending shifts in the weekend to supplement my income and I asked about their social media and how much they utilize it as a leading question so I can help update it and basically be in charge of it. And boom, I just got hired and im already providing a valuable service to them.

thats a good question, but im seeing from this topic that it's quite common. since many people will be asking it when interviewed, i'd actually ask something else to stand out more. but if you really cant think of anything else, there are much worst options

I used to always ask at least 3 questions.

1. What do you like most about working here?

2. Is there anything about my background that you have any reservations about Im regards to this position? (This gives you the opportunity to clear up any potential issues)

3. When can I expect to hear back from you all in regards to the next steps in the hiring process?
