I've pre-ordered many of PC games but with Green Man Gaming nowadays rarely at full retail price. I'm willing to accept all the issues of launch day and not complain about it but paying full price when there are cheaper options just seems foolish.

Last game I bought even before launch day was Monster Hunter World on PC.

Well, if it counts, I got my hands on Crash N'Sane Trilogy on the PS4 two days before launch because a local store broke the date. I only buy day 1 stuff when I am 100% sure it's worth it beforehand and want to support the developers.

As for the alternate question, my first one was probably Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth on PS4. Pretty much knew the game was good already from what I heard of the Japanese vita version. And before that... I really didn't follow new releases at all, I just used to buy cheap stuff that was on the store

I legitimately can't remember, it was in the last few years though and I plan on getting RDR 2 and maybe Smash if I have a switch at that point.

I remember getting Battlefront II (the original) the day it came out.

The furthest game back that I remember buying on launch, was super smash Bros brawl at midnight.either that, or the first BlazBlue. It's probably one of those two games because they came out right around the time I got my license.

Only time I ever bought anything at launch was WoW:Cataclysm. and then I sold my account a few months later because the game was fucking worthless. 2.5 years there and then I started playing league of legends.... yeah. Should've just gone to the army, least I'm trying lately to get in.

It's sad, but you're right about Bethesda. Their only saving grace is that they give players so much freedom for modding (more than nearly any other developer), so that by the end of the product life cycle, you have a well-oiled machine that looks incredible. But with this dumbass "Creation Club" they're undoing all of their good decisions in an attempt to monetize the creativity of their own players.
